The Easy Method of creating attractive and engaging Facebook Carousel Ads

How’s the situation going, everybody?

In this article today, we’ll discuss the steps to create Facebook carousel advertisements in Canva. Let’s get started!

What is a Facebook Carousel Ad?

According to Facebook Carousel advertisements are a kind of advertisement format that is able to “showcase as many as 10 videos or images in a single ad each of which has its own unique link.”

When designing your Facebook carousel advertisement, you’ll need to make use of, at a minimum five images. It will appear like the feed of someone else.

3 Strategies To Create Facebook Carousel Ads

There are three primary ways to design this type of graphic for an advertisement:

1. The same graphic template is used throughout the carousel. It varies only in the primary product or image that is featured.

In certain situations, you can alter just the first image in order to feature the headline, like an announcement about sales or any other thing that is more appealing to the eye.

The purpose, in this case, is to get the viewer to Click Here to go to the next image of the carousel. This could showcase specific products or services you offer. With a recurring template for the carousel, your ads will be an attractive and consistent look.

2. A gallery of images of your service or product with details in the caption for the advertisement.

This type of ad requires minimal editing. All you have to be able to crop or alter your images to the recommended square size. It’s crucial that you use the right images for this kind of advertisement, however, you must use the very best images of your products or services images.

They must be clear and images that are lifestyle-oriented should be presented well. If you’re interested in learning how to create high-quality images of your products prior to designing Facebook carousels, then you can read this article next.

3. A carousel that is a seamless or connected advertisement set.

This Facebook carousel ad type is what we personally believe to be the best one to create.

The separate squares after being published on a person’s feed will appear like they’re connected cleverly by using the carousel’s sides scrolling feature to enhance your advertisement’s visual appeal.

Let’s try making one.

How to Design A Connecting Carousel Advertisement Step-By-Step Guide

We’ll begin with the creation of our Canva file. On the homepage of Canva, you can click on the “create an image” button in the upper right corner of the screen. Click on “custom dimension.”

Because we’re making five images that are square with each being 1000×1000 pixels in dimension, we’ll set up the canvas to be 1000 pixels high and 5000 pixels wide.

We’ll create the carousel as a single large image, then divide them into separate squares once we’re done. Before we begin designing the carousel, we’ll want to note the points where each square begins and ends. This will help us be aware of the exact elements we’ll be adding to each square.

We’ll do this by clicking “file” followed by “show the rulers.”

You’ll see this ruler set to pixels. We’re planning to add the ruler line to every thousand pixels so that we are able to easily determine the edges of each ad’s square once we’ve cut the ad.

Now that we’ve got our document ready and we’re ready to begin creating. Start by scratch and then play with the Canva collection of backgrounds and elements.

If you browse on the tab for templates, you’ll find several large-scale graphic designs that have been already set templates. You could use any of these templates as your initial starting point, keeping only the background and other decorative elements. You’ll have a seamless layout for you to add your service or product images to.

Make sure you edit the colors and modify certain elements to match your branding better. Once you’re satisfied with the style, you can save it in PNG or JPG.

We’re now ready to split our design into 5 individual images, and for that, we’re going to use the site pinetools.com.Pinetools is a free website with a wide variety of digital tools, and for this guide, we’ll be using their split image tool.

The bottom of the form

On their homepage Click on “more” in the images section. When the page is loaded, scroll down to click “split picture.”

Once the page is been loaded:

  • Upload your wide-screen image,
  • Choose “horizontally” in the section “how to divide your image”,
  • Select either jpg or PNG as your output format.
  • and then type in the number 5 in blocks (since we’ll need to cut it into five images).

Click on “download the zip file”.

After downloading, you can unzip the file and within that folder, you’ll find five distinct (but visually connected) images for your carousel advertisements.
